Mint Warehouse Weekender
Metropolis & Bigger Than Barry

Saturday 28th January saw the second of a scintillating weekend double header get under way sparking the official opening of Mint Warehouse in Leeds.

Found within very close reach of the city centre, this idyllic purpose built setting has been especially designed to provide a high-volume addition for an already vibrant clubbing scene.

Fitted with a spacious courtyard, the overall venue offers an intimate clubbing atmosphere rather than intimidating which doesn’t exclude anyone, nor does it feel claustrophobic where other warehouse spaces have fallen guilty when squashing in the numbers.

Inside, both rooms offer cosy aesthetics. No flash pretentiousness, more a refreshing old skool ethos: decks & sick sound system, bar and a place to rave out under an impressive back drop of multi-coloured lights looking like a speckle shower of skittles!

As for the artists, Sub Focus brought proceedings to a close as him & MC ID elevated the energy to an obscene level that the crowd lapped up in appreciation of an immense occasion.

However the main man of the event with a swagger that oozed elegant excellence was Jackmaster!

He’s certainly one to watch and keeps getting better and better and better!!!!
For me, he is amongst a crew of young thrilling talents that has found their place and is now blossoming in exploring their sound which is a joy to behold for all in attendance.

Final words on Mint Warehouse: with more mammoth line ups on the way 'Mint Warehouse' is the one to watch in Twenty Twelve :-) x
