INFO:
* B-SIDE *
A young man who is taking the breaks world by storm, the last 6 months have seen B-Side (Ben Owens) make major inroads into the world of bass and breaks.
Having been involved in the music scene since an early age, he entered the dance music world back in 2000 as a drummer for Southamptons very own Surreal Madrid. This saw him perform alongside acts such as Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx, Bentley Rhythm Ace and Layo & Bushwacka!
It wasn't long before he caught the DJ bug and he hasn't looked back since. A regular here at Orange Rooms (AAA/Quids In), B-Side has also held residencies at Rhino (Audio) and Mono, playing alongside such heavyweights as Jaguar Skills, Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs, A-Skillz & Krafty Kuts.
It was a natural progression to enter the studio and start producing his own material. This has proved to be a great move with releases for Ghetto Funk and Boogie Boutique Records (with his latest Artist EP 1 hitting the number 1 spot in the Juno Download Breaks Chart), plus collaborations with Russ Cuban.
B-Side is now gaining the recognition he deserves, with a recent appearance at the Breakspoll Awards, a debut appearance at the world famous Fabric alongside Ali B, plus 2 top 5 releases in the Juno Download charts. This boy is gonna be huge, you saw him here first!!!
* SURREAL MADRID *
"Yes my friends!! After 15 years of rocking dancefloors of various clubs and festivals world wide, from Reading festival main stage to the Bohemian festivals of Spain, these party rocking veterans are back!!
These guys held a weekly residency for 8 years at the original Rhino Club where they brought you all sorts of guests to Southampton, including Groove Armada, Mylo and Annie Mac (before her explosion on Radio 1) to name just a few. The boys played a blend of funky phat electro sounds and beefy break bass led music, the sounds that are famous and popular today with all the leading producers. 10 years ahed of their time some could say!!
They return to Orange Rooms after rocking the venue on rare highlights over the years, bringing you a party set with a twist of old school and jam packed with floor fillers, funky beats and big popular tunes of today. Hold onto your pants people, Surreal Madrid are back on the Orange wheels of steel!!!"
