INFO:
After six hedonistic years throwing legendary parties at Stinky’s Peephouse in Leeds, clubbing institution Back to Basics will move onto pastures new and take residency at its new home, The Warehouse, Leeds from 21st January 2012.
For the first time ever, Basics will switch from weekly to fortnightly events, allowing the team behind the night more time crafting the best parties, the sharpest DJ line-ups, and ultimately, dedicating more time to its world class Basics’ crowd.
The move marks the beginning of a new era for Basics as it joins forces with one of the oldest venues in Leeds, and with Basics now holding the title as the longest running club night in the world, the partnership between promoter and venue is unquestionably a force to be reckoned with.
As a venue, The Warehouse is simply untouchable which goes hand-in-hand with Basics which has paved the way for club culture since the early nineties. Basics’ guest DJs and infamous residents will be at home on the venue’s Funktion One sound system and state of the art DJ equipment, and clubbers will revel in the mind blowing lighting displays and colour laser shows. The Warehouse has some changes of its own planned in the New Year as it’s set to expand into the surrounding grounds to open a third room.
The Warehouse is a prolific venue in the heart of Back to Basics’ pioneering promoter, Dave Beer, who as a clubber was a regular during the 1980s. It also holds a poignant memory for Dave as it was here where he and best mate, Ali Cooke, exchanged handshakes with DJ Ralph Lawson as they entered a pact to set up Back to Basics.
